I just sold one of my TC Hawen 50 caliber flinter's to another member here and he just received shipment of it yesterday. His only question was that the hammer had a 'wiggle' to it, even though the hammer screw was tight.
I checked my TC and it has a 'wiggle' to the hammer as well even though the screw is tight.
I didn't know what to tell this fellow. I do know that TC warranties these locks for life....however if he plans on using this rifle for this year's hunting I would not send it back to TC now. The lock has always worked fine, and my current lock on my gun works fine.
I guess this is why the 'true' flintlock guys look down their nose at TC locks....or at least one of the reasons. I never really noticed this until he brought it to my attention.
Any thoughts on this matter?
Thanks.
Dave
